Abstract

Two principal problems have limited the use of the Advancing-Layer technique for generating meshes around complex geometries. The first is the lack of robustness when growing away from either concave, convex or a combination of concave/convex boundaries. The second issue concerns the inability of the method to handle multiply-connected domains. This paper outlines extensions to the Advancing-Layer method which addresses both of these limitations.
