Effect of Node Placement Algorithm on Adaptive Mesh Generation

Abstract
In adaptive mesh generation, placement of internal nodes plays a greater role for fast convergence. So far linear interpolation techniques have been used for placing the internal nodes in a given domain. In this paper a comparison between linear and quadratic interpolation has been tried and results are presented for a number of plane stress and plane strain problems.
