Efficient solutions to equilibrium and interpolation problems can be obtained by using wavelet basis vectors for use in problem discretization, or for use as a preconditioning transform. Good approximations to these solutions can be obtained in only 0(n) operations and 0(n) storage locations, a property that can be extremely useful in visualization applications.
