Abstract

The paper addresses the problem of the automated geometric analyses of CAD model for surface mesh generation. An approach to geometric analyses is presented, by deriving automatic relations between curvature/topologic properties of the underlying surface geometry and areas of expected high gradients of the solution. A specific set of geologic and topologic features of the CAD model in boundary representation is detected and is further considered within the frame of extended CAD-mesh association problems. Based on these features of the CAD model, more adequate discreet representation of the domain is ensured. The paper gives a description of curvature and graph-theoretic geometric analyses methods, as well as a discussion of the geometric analysis module prototype implementation.
