Abstract
We present an algorithm to efficiently generate grids for parametric iso-surfaces, for applications requiring interactive visualization. For a number of applications, we are not interested in visualizing the complete parametric surface, but only a region of it. The boundary of this region is specified by a parametric trimming curve on the surface. We have optimized our algorithm for trimmed surfaces. We discuss methods for good quality grid generation. Given a grid corresponding to a trimmed parametric surface, we describe an incremental algorithm, that can modify it to a denser or sparser grid. Such update of grid occurs dynamically, as the user changes the focus of visualization.
