Abstract
Unstructured grid adaption for non-convex domains is described. The method provides a technique for either smoothing an unstructured grid, or adapting the grid to a given weight function. In contrast to other methods, the proposed method produces valid grids for non-convex domains. Examples are shown for smoothing grids on a domain with a reentrant corner, adapting a grid to the solution of a model problem set in the unit circle, and adaptive grid generation for upwind calculation of a supersonic inlet flow-field. It is shown that increased numerical accuracy can be achieved on unstructured grids by adapting to salient solution features.
