Abstract
This paper proposes a mesh optimization method based on the unit mesh concept for the adaptive remeshing of a surface. A G1 representation of the surface (the so- called support) is obtained from an initial surface mesh. The meshing or the remeshing of the surfaces consists in optimizing the edge lengths of the initial mesh via a specification metric field.
