About Us

SIAM or Thai Student Association at Carnegie Mellon University is an organization that brings together students from Thailand, Thai-americans, and anyone interested in the Thai culture. Our main goals are promoting Thai culture to Carnegie Mellon and Pittsburgh community, giving aid to incoming Thai students at Carnegie Mellon, and rendering assistance to Carnegie Mellon administration with regards to Thai-related matters. We do this through various cultural events that we put on annually and through community services. Siam was Thailand's official name until May 11, 1949. Historically, it means "the land of white elephants."
