In the Fall of 2006, the Robotics Club held a sumo bot competition. The goal for each robot was to push the other robot out of the ring. I built two robots for this competition. Hammer-Bot on the left used a Basic Stamp1 with whiskers to find its opponent, it would then come swinging. The Spinner-Bot on the right used a range finder to locate its opponents, while spinning its upside-down stew pot full of sheet metal screws.

Hammer-Bot was declared the winner.
