- Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh
Catalog of Pittsburgh's public libraries. Carnegie Mellon faculty, staff, and students can borrow materials by getting a Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh library card at the Main Library lending desk. Library Cards are free to residents of Allegheny County (bring proof of address), as well as out-of-town college students residing in the county (bring your Carnegie Mellon ID card and proof of local address). You can also have materials brought to one of the Carnegie Mellon University Libraries by the Courier Service via ILLiad by noting the library and call number in the notes field.

Catalog of the University of Pittsburgh Library System, including all branch campus libraries. Carnegie Mellon faculty, staff, and students can borrow materials by getting a Special Borrower's card at the Hillman Library circulation desk with their Carnegie Mellon ID cards and proof of current Carnegie Mellon affiliation. See University of Pittsburgh Library System Reciprocal Borrowing Agreement for details. A comprehensive database for business. To find overviews of the biotechnology industry, go to Advanced Search, change Content Area to Industry Overviews and type in biotechnology as a keyword.
- NetAdvantage (Carnegie Mellon users only)
Analysis of the biotechnology industry. Once in the databse, use the Tool Box at right to select "Biotechnology." Older reports may be found in Hunt Reference 338.7 S78.

Most useful might be The Heinz House of Representatives Papers (54.9 linear feet), which focus on local and regional issues of importance to Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania as well as his committee service, are available for research use, though these cover the years ca. 1970s.
