Finding a book in Hunt Library (except for 4th floor) on= ce catalog is flipped to show Library of Congress call numbers<= /p>

Areas being relabeled and re-shelved are listed on the= board in front of the aluminum doors.  Due to the fact that areas are constantly being labeled and re-shelved, it is impossible to give an exact location or call number as to where Dewey ends = and LC begins.

Blue tagged items are books for which there were no LC labels.  They are in Dewey ord= er and will remain in Dewey order, though their location may change (they may move from one floor to another or to another section of shelving) as the project progresses.  Location changes = will be noted on the project update board by the aluminum doors.

To get Dewey number for books in Hunt when the catalog= has been “flipped” (that is, shows Library of Congress call numbers= ), try Cameo or Workflows.  In Cameo = and Workflows, the Dewey number will appear in the bibliographic record View Op= tion ALL, where it says Holdings- it’s the last numb= er in that field.  Workflows Test wi= ll stay in Dewey until further notice.

Patron has LC call number from Cameo for Hunt stacks-2= , Hunt basement or Hunt Ref-1 book:

If area has been re-labeled= in LC, and has been re-shelved in LC order, patron can go and find book.

If area has been re-labeled= in LC, but is still in Dewey call number order, get Dewey numbers (see paragraph 3 above) and go to correct Dewey stacks range.  Dewey numbers appear on the verso = of the title page of the books.  You = can use that to get an “indicator” of where you are within the rang= e, and where the book might be shelved.  You can also use the LC number, if you want, to help you identify the book.

If area has not been re-lab= eled with LC, book will have Dewey number and be in Dewey order. Get Dewey number (see paragraph 3 above) and go to correct Dewey stacks range and look for b= ook.

Patron has Dewey number from Cameo for Hunt stacks-2, basement, or Ref-1 book:

Book will not have an LC la= bel. These are the “blue tagged” books-no LC label was available for them. Depending on call number, it might be in a “special” location (= e. g. 016s-028s without LC call numbers are in the basement, Row 15), or it mi= ght be in its proper Dewey stack location.&nbs= p; Usually there will be a sign in the stacks indicating where the books have gone if they are not in the proper stack.

If you are unable to find the book, there are several options: EZ Borrow, seeing if the book is at the University of Pitts= burgh or at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh via their online catalogs, interlibrary loan.
