Through R2D2 is a fictional robot, he remains one of the more well known robots to this day. In terms of sense, R2D2 has visual and audio inputs that most likely far surpass anything available in modern robotics. His ability to plan also demonstrates more advanced reasoning capabilities that what the most modern AI has been able to produce. His decision processes involve near human responses, including concern for others and awareness of self peril. He also demonstrates knowledge of tactics that have been used in multiple occasions to overcome obstacles that one would not expect him to be able to handle. In terms of acting, he is fully mobile, and even includes facilities to enable temporary flight. Furthermore he is able to interface with most other mechanical objects either through audio communication, physical manipulation through the use of his mechanized arms, or through direct port to port interface. Though is primary function is to aid pilots in navigation during battle, his actions have had much more global ramifications
