I am a second year doctoral student at Carnegie Mellon University pursuing an M.S. in Machine Learning and a Ph.D. in Logic, Computation and Methodology. My research interests include causal inference, probabilistic graphical models, kernel methods, and statistical machine learning in general. I am currently interested in applications in brain imaging, computational psychology, and the biomedical domain. During the summer 2009, I am an intern in the Machine Learning and Applied Statistics Group at Microsoft Research working with Chris Meek. Before graduate school, I studied philosophy, psychology and mathematics at Tulane University where I received B.A. and B.S. degrees summa cum laude. I was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and received the Karlem Reiss Memorial Award, which recognizes one new inductee (graduating senior) demonstrating excellence in the arts and sciences, and elected to the William Wallace Peery Society, which recognizes the top 10 graduating seniors each year at Tulane University (out of approximately 2000 for the class of 2007). I spent my junior year abroad through the Tulane Honors Program at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. |
