The original right side door was beyond repair. The replacement door I found was an improvement, but still not perfect.
Among its problems were a rusty area in the lower rear corner. To fix it, I did the following:
Cut out the rust:
Welded in a new piece of sheet metal:
Filled over the welded area with body filler and primered it:
Note: The greyish filler is USC All Metal, an aluminum-filled filler that is supposed to be more durable than the ordinary kind. The lighter colored filler is Evercoat lightweight body filler, which is used to get a nice smooth finish over the All Metal:
