Abstract
Visual Basic .NET has several new language features such as inheritance, interfaces, full multithreading support and structured exception handling that makes it possible for a Visual Basic developer to create multi threaded, scalable applications. This article addresses how to use the DAQmx driver software to quickly develop and deploy a advanced applications that uses data acquisition and Measurement Studio.

We will also look into the Data Acquisition (DAQ) Assistant, which is an easy-to-use graphical interface for configuring measurement tasks and channels and for customizing timing, triggering, and scales without programming. Using the DAQ Assistant, you can configure a measurement task for all of your data acquisition applictions and then generate code to configure and use the task in your application program.
