BIOSKETCH:

I received my Biology B.Sc from the University of Athens (UOA) in 2003. In 2004 I concluded my M.Sc studies in Bioinformatics in the UOA . Between 2002-2004 I was a member of the Bioinformatics laboratory in the University of Athens under the supervision of Professor Stavros Hamodrakas. There I also carried out my B.Sc and M.Sc graduate work on computational analysis of membrane proteins focusing on the automated recognition and classification of G-protein Coupled Receptors. I have attended two Molecular and Cellular Biology summer schools (2001, 2002) held by the National Center for Scientific Research Demokritos where I also was an undergraduate trainee (2000, 2001) in the Carcinogenesis and Mutagenesis lab under the supervision of Dr. Makis Voutsinas.
As of 2004 I am a graduate student in the Merck Computational biology PhD program at the Biology department of Carnegie Mellon University
