What is the Turkish Nationality Room?

The Turkish Nationality Room (TNR) will soon be a reality and pave the way to similar academic and cultural activities in the USA.

It will become a permanent cultural ambassador of our cultural heritage, for decades to come. We expect that the momentum gained from realizing the TNR will lead to the establishment of a Turkish Studies program as well. Since 2001, a group of Turkish students, community members, and others formed the TNR Committee and launched the fundraising and design efforts.

This initiative has been formally recognized by the University of Pittsburgh. By January 2008, the project gained wide recognition from friends of Turks everywhere yielding almost 90% of the total cost. The design of the room has gone through several iterations and is ready for implementation
