    GOAL:

The purpose of this workshop is to offer its participants information pertaining to the college process. This information will include standardized tests, financial aid, choosing a college, an overview of what engineering is, and a panel to answer any questions remaining.

    WORKSHOPS:

    SAT

This session, held by Kaplan, will inform the students about the changes made to the SAT’s, and give an abbreviated SAT Prep session.

    Financial Aid Workshop

This session will discuss the FAFSA process, loans, grants, and scholarships. (good places to find aid )

    Preparing for College

This session will include information on what an individual should do to prepare themselves for the college application process and becoming a stronger candidate. This session will cover the tests needed to be taken (SAT, ACT, and/or SAT II’s), SAT/college application fees/waivers, selecting a college, types of colleges that exist, whether or not an interview is required, and what admissions offices look for in applicants.

    College Fair

A number of college representatives will come and represent their different schools. They will set up booths and the students will have the opportunity to browse the schools of their choice. We will have a wide array of schools present at the workshop.
