       Biography
Before I started college I had a hard time finding a major that interested me; however, after talking to two engineers in my family I decided chemical engineering was my ideal major due to my interest in math and the sciences and the endless opportunities a bachelor's degree in engineering would provide for me. They were also the first people to introduce me to the National Society of Black Engineers, so I knew that I was going to join the organization well before I arrived at Carnegie Mellon.

After being part of the NSBE during my freshman year I knew I wanted to take a more active role within the organization and I became the 2008-2009 Pre-College Initiative Chair. Now, with two years under my belt I am excited about taking on new responsibilities as the 2009-2010 Programs Chair.
