Even though we have the capability to communicate over long distances, we are losing the senses of "the body" when using modern technology. In the future, can we design a medium that overcomes that? "Televised Distance"is an interactive art project that suggests a potential alternative model of communication technology.
As a first attempt. The artist created TV-phone like system which has dimention of depth. So that anyone who engages the medium can sense how far is his/her oppornent who is communicating through the screen. 60's 3D film technic, blue and red glasses are used in this system. The artwork was shown at First night Pittsburgh 2003"at downtown Pittsburgh with support of The Times Peoject,Taylor Arts Group, The Sprout Fund and STUDIO for Creative Inquiry. |
