Welcome!

I am Mostafa Mirshekari, a fifth year PhD candidate of Civil and Environmental Engineering in Carnegie Mellon University working with Haeyoung Noh and Pei Zhang. My research focuses on using Structures As Sensors (SAS) to infer and understand what is going on inside and around them. During my PhD, I have focused on characterizing SAS to track and monitor occupants inside a building which is important in smart building and smart healthcare applications. This reasearch is highly inter-disciplinary and requires characterizing and modelling the structure, the sensing system, and human health and behavioral patterns. Hence, it is in the intersection of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Medical Domain.

I will appear here soon!
