PowerPoint Lesson 1

Go to the START menu, choose PROGRAMS, and POWERPOINT.

Choose DESIGN TEMPLATE and click OK.

You should see lots of design templates. Try clicking on some to see what they look like.

Choose one design template you like.

Select the first AutoLayout and click OK.

Move the mouse cursor over the words ‘click to add title’.

Click in the box and type ‘Getting Ready for School’.

Move the mouse cursor over the words ‘Click to add Subtitle’.

Click on the box and type ‘Things I Do’.

Click the NEW SLIDE button on the left side of the screen.

Choose the 2^nd AutoLayout.

Move the mouse cursor over the words ‘Click to add title’ and type ‘Wake Up’.

Move pointer over the words ‘Click to Add Text’ and type ‘Alarm Rings at’ and the time your alarm rings in the morning. Hit ENTER.

Type two more things you do as soon as you wake up.

Click the ‘New Slide’ button on the left to get slide number 3.

Choose the same AutoLayout as for slide 2.

Type “Personal Hygiene” under ‘Click to Add Title’.

Under ‘Click to Add Text’, type at least 3 things you do (such as brush teeth, take shower).

Click the New Side button on the left to get slide 4.

Choose the same layout as slide 3.

Under ‘Click to Add Title’, type ‘School Clothes’.

Under ‘School clothes’, type a list of clothes you wore to school today.

Click the ‘New Slide’ button on the left to get slide 5. Choose the same layout as slide 4.

Type “Breakfast” for your title.

Underneath ‘Breakfast’, type a list of what you ate for breakfast.

Make one more slide.

The title is ‘Transportation to School’.

Type how you get to school in the morning.

Go to the FILE menu and choose SAVE. Save to the folder with your name on it. Call the file ‘PowerPoint Ready for School’.

Go to the FILE menu and choose EXIT to exit from PowerPoint.
