Research Topic Abstract

Do you know there exists a huge digital divide in this world? (Not like the North-South divide you know of). This is not a topic about comparisons between developed and developing countries. Even developed countries like the USA, the digital divide exists, though the statistics may look more optimistic than developing nations in Asia and Africa. In this research project, we aim to focus on the following areas of study to work out a comprehensive view of the digital divide:

• Network infrastructure in developing countries
• Case study - Access to computers in the US
• Education & computer literacy
• Solutions to the Digital Divide
