surface I project
project intention:
Design and build a surface that is made up of components that relate directly to the princples of surface, structure, and volume. The surface should create different experiences from front and back.
final full scale model
material - pine wood stained a dark mahongany

* photographed with surface designed by Doug Farrell. During design process, students were assigned partners and both surfaces were to interesect and create a spatial condition.
room I project
project intention:
Using the three principles of surface, structure, and volume that were defined in the research of a precedent house design and build a room (a single space) to accomodate a person, defining three spatial conditions: sleeping, sitting, and standing.

Fall 2006
Yellow Studio, Professors: David Burns, Jason Morris
specimen I project
project intention :
The project focused on the analysis of the plant specimen pokeweed. The study concentrated on three aspects: surface, structure, and volume. The specimen can be defined by its square and helical structure that decreases in volume at one end. The project, including drawings, closed/open modesl, and the layer box, expressed this analysis to create form.

path I project
project intention:
The path project was a response to the static and dynamic systems analyzed in a site in schenley park. Once given the site of our path, we were to design a path that was in direct response to the topography, trees, light, precipiation, wind, etc.
