Pittsburgh Chapter American Recorder Society

You have found the website for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Recorder Society, the perfect place for recorder players at any level in the western Pennsylvania region.

We meet for coached group play the third Sunday of each month from September thru May. Occasionally we change dates so check at the left for date and time.

For lessons you will need at least one recorder. Most people begin playing alto or soprano recorder. If you need to purchase one we recommend Yamaha’s better grade brown or wood grain recorders that can be purchased singly or as a set.

We thank the First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh for opening their parlour for our meetings.

New to Recorder or Need a Refresher?

Pittsburgh Chapter offers beginning lessons and technique sessions starting at 2 pm the Sunday of our monthly meeting.

New to Pittsburgh or Visiting Pittsburgh?

Drop in if you are in town on a day we meet, but please send us email to let us know you will attend a meeting so we can advise you of any changes to time or venue.
