Pittsburgh Chapter American Recorder Society
Pittsburgh Chapter American Recorder Society
You have found the website for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Recorder Society, the perfect place for recorder players at any level in the western Pennsylvania region.
We meet for coached group play the third Sunday of each month from September thru May. Occasionally we change dates, as we will this December, so check at the right for date and time.
We offer beginning recorder lessons that focus on technique and ensemble play. If you are interested, send email to allegroannie@msn.com.
For lessons you will need at least one recorder. Most people begin playing alto or soprano recorder. If you need to purchase one we recommend Yamaha’s better grade brown or wood grain recorders that can be purchased singly or as a set.
We thank the First United Church of Pittsburgh for opening their parlour for our meetings.
New to Pittsburgh or Visiting Pittsburgh?
Drop in if you are in town on a day we meet, but please send us email to let us know you will attend a meeting so we can advise you of any changes to time or venue.
