Remember that our rating scale was from 1 to 10, where 1="Blechhh!" and 10="I love it!"

Salsa Types are as follows:
1=Chi Chi's Fiesta Salsa (Medium)
2=Newman's Own (Medium)
3=Valley of Mexico Fire Roasted Salsa (Medium)
4=Valley of Mexico Green Salsa (Mild)
5=Geronimo Chunky Garden (Hot)
6=Pace Picante (Mild)
7=Chris's Jalapeno Salsa (Medium)
8=Chris's Mystery Salsa (Medium) [mystery ingredient was radish. Congrats to Daniel for being the first to guess correctly.]

For those of you who feel a data analysis is not complete without some inferential statistics:
There was a main effect of salsa type (across all eight salsas), F(7, 42) = 8.22, p < .01. This effect appears to be due to a difference between bottled and home-made salsas, with home-made rated higher than bottled, F(1, 48) = 41.4, p < .01. Looking at bottled salsas only, there was no significant effect of brand, F(5, 30) = 1.99, p > .10.

We thank all those experimental designers at the party who made suggestions for improving the quality of our design and data-collection procedures... maybe next time! :-)
