embodied.
“Embodied” is an art installation that explores the use of projection as a
transformation tool. The projection not only altered my collaborator and I’s
perspective of body image, but also impeded into our personal space, leaving us
vulnerable and exposed. As the audience watched, the lines became blurred. It became
hard to delineate between the physical body and the projection, producing an overall
feeling of the ephemeral and unifying quality of our own individual bodies. This
work is important to me not only for the personal subject, but also because I
continued my experimentation with projection.
Our original idea was to use live video feed to project onto each other, but, due to one projector not working and difficulties with lighting, we decided to pre-record each video and play it back onto eachother.
