Casino Royale Trailer Sound Design (2007)

A preliminary sound assignment for my Building Virtual Worlds class.
Oikophobia (2006)
.mp3 file, 5.5MB
The second movement of a three-movement phobia piece. The word Oikophobia simply translated means fear of home, but it also has taken on a deeper definition: the aversion to one's own home society. The source material for the piece is comprised of simple household sounds (drawers opening and closing, carbonated liquid poured into a glass, plastic bags rustling, etc). I granularized and manipulated these sounds to emphasize texture, rhythm, and timbre, as well as to effectively mask their original identities and any associations they might hold to the listener. This piece was selected for Aural Capacity vol. 4, a showcase of student works put out by Oberlin Conservatory every two years.
It Argues (excerpt, 2006)
.mp3 file, 4.4MB
A short excerpt from a guitar and electronics piece. All processing and effects were programmed in Max/MSP and were executed in real time. This piece was performed at the 15th annual Florida Electroacoustic Music Festival.
Digital Video
"The Final Countdown" Music Video (2007)

Pretty self-explanatory. We had a lot of fun with this one.
My role: Actor, rock star, stuntperson, sound editing, video editing, some camera operation.
Scene from American Beauty (2007)

A recreation of a scene from American Beauty, done shot for shot. Disclaimer: This clip contains some harsh language.
My role: Actor, sound editing, video editing, some camera operation.
Miramax Team Promo (2007)

The first video assignment for my Visual Story class, introducing my team for the semester. There are a few issues with the dialogue audio quality since we didn't use an external mic, but overall it was a good first assignment.
My role: Actor, editor, some camera operation.
Human Playback (2007)

A stop-motion-styled piece done for an undergraduate digital video project. The music is an original composition. Please note: I don't actually know how to play piano.
Buttered Noodles (2006)

The first digital video I ever made, based on a surreal true story from my childhood.
