Traditional
I began taking weekly drawing lessons when I was eight years old, training with Chinese artist Zhou Yong. I started with pencil, learning the basics of shape and "drawing what you see", and eventually graduated to other mediums such as painting in oil and acrylic and sketching with charcoal. Although my drawing lessons ended as college began, I have retained a passion for art and drawing and continue to pursue this interest today.

Digital Illustration
As computers became much more prevalent, illustration with the aid of computer software also became more popular. Unlike my experiences with traditional media, I was completely self-taught in digital illustration. I first tried my hand in this area in 2004, starting with Microsoft Paint, and became increasingly involved as I went through high school and became more skilled. The bulk of my digital artworks are completed with a graphics tablet and Photoshop 7, although I have dabbled with other digital illustration software such as openCanvas and Easy Paint Tool SAI. The collection of drawings below reflect my interest in anime-style artwork.
