Abstract

A wiki is a page or collection of webpages that have these common properties:
- Anyone who accesses it can edit the content
- A simplified markup language is used in a web browser
- Often used to create collaborative and community websites
- Different pages are linked together in an integrated format
- Generally, there is no review before modifications are accepted and often appear almost instantly
- Many wikis are open to alteration by the general public without requiring them to register user accounts
The encyclopedia Wikipedia is one of the best-known wikis.
