About Beth Samuel

The Beth Samuel Jewish Center serves Jews in the northern and western suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA - including the North Hills, Sewickley, Moon, Cranberry, Mars, Aliquippa, Robinson, and elsewhere in Beaver, Butler and Allegheny Counties.

Enhanced by the diversity of or members, we now include families from Reconstructionist, Conservative, Reform, Orthodox and secular backgrounds.

We continue to expand our religious and educational programming to accomodate a variety of needs. The Beth Samuel extended family is currently one-hundred households strong. Beth Samuel is affiliated with the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation.

Our House

The synagogue's building, completed in 1961, features a light-filled sanctuary, a large social hall with a stage, a professional kosher kitchen, seven airy classrooms, a large open social hall with stage, a library, and offices for our Rabbi, Office Manager and the Religious School Director.

The facility is enhanced by contemporary stained-glass windows in the sanctuary, social hall, and around the main entrance to the synagogue.

Our Religious School

Our religious school includes seven classrooms, including a library/lounge, a computer lab, an accessible ground-floor classroom, and traditional children's classrooms. We provide educational programs from September through May on Sunday mornings for children ages 3 through teens. Adult programming occurs throughout the year on varied days and times to accommodate the schedules of our entire congregation. Read more about our commitment to lifelong education.
