At Carnegie MellonFounded on February 17, 1944 at Carnegie Mellon University, the Delta Xi chapter has now grown to more than 95 sisters and hundreds of alumni. Through philanthropy and service, scholarship, and leadership, we believe that each sister of encompasses the values of sisterhood, friendship, and self-growth. Along with Kappa, many of our sisters are heavily involved on the CMU campus and Pittsburgh communities. Click on the following tabs below to learn more about us. |

Philanthropy

The sisters of Kappa Kappa Gamma value philanthropy by implementing Kappa Kappa Gamma's principle, Philanthropy 1-2-3, in their everyday activities. When we apply this to our chapter, it means that we first support our family, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. Second, we support our local philanthropy, the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh. Third, we support the greater good by joining with Kappas everywhere to support Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) through acts of service. Kappas are devoted to helping others. Kappas participate in volunteer activities ranging from working with children at the Children's Institute to cleaning up local parks in Pittsburgh.
Scholarship

As Carnegie Mellon students, we put academics first. As Kappas, we hold academics as our first priority during our time at CMU. Our chapter has several resources to help our members excel and receive any scholastic support they need. A designated quiet scholarship room is a great place for sisters to study, a Kappa tutoring system also promotes sisterhood bonding, and the Stars of Kappa weekly reward system showcases our individual achievements. We watch ourselves and our sisters grow from freshmen to seniors while maturing in their scholarship. We understand the various challenges of CMU life and utilize unique outlets of support to scaffold each sister's education; we help sisters reach their full academic potential because as Kappas, we respect knowledge and strive to reach academic excellence.
Leadership

Not only do we have 18 leadership positions available on our chapter council but also standing committees who organize and lead through events such as IM sports and unity dinners.
