Events

By participating in CMU's biggest Greek philanthropy event (Greek Sing), biggest tradition (Carnival and Booth), and biggest formal (Sapphire Ball), Kappas have fun year-round. We also participate in many sisterhood events, such as lunch at Mad Mex, bowling and laser tag outings at Funfest, and visits to the Phipps Conservatory. Through the participation of these events, it allows for us to have bond with each other in fun environments.

We have participated in shows such as West Side Story, Fame, and The Wedding Singer with different fraternities on campus. For Greek Sing 2012, we partnered with the brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and put on an original show based on "The Wizard of Oz."

Building two-story buildings is no match for the sisters of Kappa Kappa Gamma. We recently created a 'It's A Small World' themed booth this past spring. Held during CMU Carnival weekend, we love working on booth in order to keep the tradition alive. In years past, we have built booths with themes such as "If the Ice Age Never Ended" and "Kappa Cosmic Galaxy."

During the year Kappa has two social events, Crush Party and Mystery Date, where each sister can have one of their sisters set them up or they can invite a crush/friend. At the end of the year, Kappas celebrate all their hard work by holding their formal, Sapphire Ball. This night is a great way for all the Kappas to remember all the great memories from the past year.

One of Kappas most important values is sisterhood. Kappas are bonded by the ties of the fraternity, which means taking sincere parts in each other's lives and keeping sisters' best interests at heart. Kappa provides both a home away from home during college and a lifetime of friendship and love.

Sisterhood is strengthened through informal events such as Standards Retreats, weekly Glee watching parties, our Aunt Fleur mentor program, Booth, and Greek Sing. Through all of these Kappas learn more about each other while having a great time.
