Christmas Concert 2008
December 8, 2007

Greetings JN faithful!

On behalf of the group I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our concert last Saturday. It was quite amazing to spend the evening sharing the music that has served as the soundtrack of our semester.

A couple of notes on our song selection this semester...

What I've Done
As I shared a bit during the concert, What I've Done has held a bit of a special meaning for me since I've heard it, serving as a sort of anthem in dealing with my past. Regret is one of the largest factors that prevents us from moving forward in God's plan for our lives, and realizing that He has forgiven us for all we've done (and in turn we can forgive ourselves) is instrumental in letting go...

My December
Stephen chose this song specifically to connect with those whose Decembers have left them cold and lonely. Though many associate Christmas time with joy and family, we send this song out to those who are suffering this season...

In The First Light
Drawn from the JN vault, this song follows My December to offer comfort to those in pain. The first Christmas brought a child, destined for pain and rejection, to the earth. Yet through the most pain anyone could ever endure, he persevered and God was faithful in His promise to deliver Him, and thus deliver the world. God proved that in the most dire of circumstances and in the midst of incalculable pain, He is faithful to deliver us safely.

Thanks again to everyone who helped out (Kevin Lin, Chris Lin, Matt Morris, Alana Bereck, Jess Nan, Ben Chidester) and to all the alumni present to bolster The Lord Bless You. :-)

Merry Christmas to all! Look for us next semester...
