Responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining the previously non-existent SpinCircuit documentation library and online help system, and for managing contract technical writers.

Senior Technical Writer, April 2001 to August 2001

Ariba develops procurement applications for optimizing the procurement and travel request, approval, and ordering cycle in large and mid-sized companies. Responsible for creating and editing softcopy documentation and online help for the Ariba web-based procurement and travel applications.

Senior Technical Writer, March 2000 to March 2001

Impresse developed a Print Collaboration solution that enabled print buyers and vendors to organize and streamline the print procurement process. Responsible for creating and editing online help for web-based collaboration applications, and developing system documentation for internal files.

Software Solutions division of IBM develops DB2 Universal Database. Responsible for creating and editing documentation and web content for database development tools. Collaborated with translators to ensure quality in international versions of the help, tested the help in multiple environments, participated in usability sessions with human factors to identify customer requirements.

Real-Time Information Management System (RIMS)
General Motors, January 2003 to Present

Develop applications and services for automobiles marketable in the 2010 to 2015 timeframe. Brainstorm, design, develop, and prototype revolutionary services for automobiles using HCI techniques. Collaborate with external client and lead a multidisciplinary project team.

NativeAccent Redesign
Carnegie Speech, August 2002 to January 2003

Carnegie Speech develops accent reduction software for non-native English speakers. Responsible for redesigning the NativeAccent software based on contextual inquiries, heuristic evaluations, cognitive walkthroughs, and think aloud sessions. Work with external client and usability design team.

Haptic Game Vest and Maze
Telepresence Art and Applications, August 2002 to December 2002

Brainstorming, design, and development of a haptic communication game. Players wear a tactile vest and are guided through a maze by a remote player through use of a joystick and camera.
