I’m a Systems Scientist working on Project LISTEN.  I completed up my Ph.D. at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the Center for Knowledge Communication.

At CMU I’ve been working on Project LISTEN, a computer tutor that listens to children read aloud and coaches them when they make mistakes.  I work on using machine learning techniques to determine a student’s current state of knowledge, determining how to adapt a computer’s instruction, and figuring out what to do with vast quantities of information gathered by computer tutors.

Things you might want to know about me:

I'm also working towards a doctorate in education, specializing in instructional technology (with some background in psychometrics).  This is "paused" and I am taking a leave of absence for now.
