This World of Ours…

The pointy aspect of any opinion is the inevitable individual perception; it is hard to think selflessly, as it is also very easy to hurt susceptibilities just by having an opinion.

I don't mean to offend or otherwise inconvenience anybody. Let me guard myself with the following quotations:

• Michel Eyquem de Montaigne: I find that there is nothing barbarous and savage in this nation, by anything that I can gather, excepting, that every one gives the title of barbarism to everything that is not in use in his own country.
• François–Marie Arouet (Voltaire): I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

I welcome any comments that might unbias my opinions. In this diverse world, dialogue is the way to go.
