TIRF/FRAPP Microscopy Station A Nikon TE-2000U inverted microscope with a high-speed CCD camera (Cascade 512b) is integrated with computer-controlled external optics that deliver photobleaching and total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) beams from a 2W solid-state laser (SpectraPhysics Millenia Pro, 532 nm). The system designed for measurements of surface diffusion in biosensors. A computer-controlled DC power supply (Micralyne) is available for electrophoretic flow characterization in microchannel devices. |

Capillary Electrophoresis Systems Two separate Beckman-Coulter P/ACE-MDQ systems can be programmed for multiple runs using vials in 36-well plates. One system utilizes UV detection along with two modes of LIF detection (488 nm and 632 nm). A second P/ACE-MDQ system has photodiode array detection for continuous streaming of UV spectra. |

Atomic Force Microscope with Closed-Loop Piezo Control The Nanoscope MultiMode Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) performs the full range of AFM techniques to measure surface characteristics including topography, elasticity, friction, adhesion, magnetic fields, and electrical fields. The AFM includes the PicoForce force spectroscopy system with a capacitive sensor to monitor and minimize piezo drift. |
