Hello,I am Ido Roll, a PhD candidate at the Human Computer Interaction Institute in Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA. My advisors are Ken Koedigner and Vincent Aleven. My committee also includes David Klahr and Dan Schwartz. I am also a member of the Pittsburgh Science of Learning Center [PSLC] and the Program for Interdisciplinary Research in Education [PIER]. I believe that understanding and designing learning opportunities that empower the learner can help people become more curious, capable and innovative learners. A rigor and systematic integration of the science of cognition, the art of education and the engineering of adaptive technologies can best achieve that. My research focuses on understanding how people learn to learn and how such learning can be fostered using intelligent tutoring systems. |
