 Contact Me

Hello,

I am Ido Roll, a PhD candidate at the Human Computer Interaction Insitute [HCII] in Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA. My advisors are Ken Koedinger (CMU/HCII, Psychology) and Vincent Aleven (CMU/HCII). My committee also includes David Klahr (CMU/Psychology) and Dan Schwartz (Stanford/Education).

I am also a member of the Pittsburgh Science of Learning Center [PSLC] and the Program for Interdisciplinary Research in Education [PIER].

I believe that people of all ages are constantly learning. Understanding and designing opportunities that empower the learner can help people become more curious, capable and innovative learners. This vision can best be achieved by combining the science of cognition, the art of education and the engineering of adaptive technologies.

My research focuses on understanding how people learn to learn and how such learning can be fostered using intelligent tutoring systems.
