To see latest updates to this article, go HERE INTRO This will be the 1st in a series of guides I am writing for people who want to overclock their computers but don't really know how to. Overclock at your own risk. This is only a guide for your reference. Do not be afraid, however, because as long as you do not increase the CPU core voltage to above 1.675v, it is almost impossible to kill your P4 by overclocking. This article is about how to overclock your P4 "C" Northwood (0.13micron with 800MHz FSB) chip. I am focusing on the lower speed P4 "C" like the 2.4C and the 2.6C. This guide assumes that you:

To get a good overclock, I recommend ditching that stock heatsink and get a big copper heatsink and a fan with decent airflow. I will write another article on installing a heatsink and thermal paste etc later. Please remember that not all processors or mainboard chipsets are made equal. Some will overclock really well, and some will hardly run faster than stock speeds no matter what. This part depends on your luck. I really cannot stress this fact enough.
