Using EZ for creating documents

Obtaining special characters

You must create a file called .ezinit in your root directory, and add the following commands in it:
include /usr/local/lib/global.ezinit
addkey compchar-compose ^Xv textview
The first line includes all previous initialization commands. The second line creates the command ^Xv (that's Cntrl-X, followed by v). When you type that you will be prompted for the Entry code of the symbol (two or three letters). To see a list of all special symbols, just type "?" followed by Enter.

Obtaining overbars on symbols

One easy way to do this is to redefine one of the standard styles to be the overbar. Choose Edit Styles in the main File menu. There, choose Font, and e.g. choose Change Bar. Then click on Change Bar in enable to cancel it, and click on "other". Type in "Over Bar" at the query. That then replaces the Change Bar with an Over Bar. Then click on Delete Menu under ez to exit.

Obtaining nice looking references

Use the Description option under Region. You can redefine the positions of the indents for 2nd lines and beyond using the Edit Styles option. Selecting Region and Description there, go to "relative margins and paragraph indent". Move the margin position so that it's at about +0.33 in and the paragraph position so that it's at 0 in.

Redefining subscripts

To move down the subscripts a bit, go into Edit Styles, choose Font and Subscript, click "other" and enter "down 4".
