Once up on a time, a woman lived in a neighborhood that for some reason had more garbage issues than South Oakland in springtime. All sorts of things ended up on her sidewalk, in her ferns, and of course in the gutter in front of her house. Mostly, the garbage was discarded food wrappers and paper, but once in awhile a truly interesting piece of garbage would come along.
One day, a tiny white plastic shoe, once worn by a doll no doubt, showed up in the gutter in front of her house. No manner of rain, sleet, snow, or city street cleaner machines could budge this shoe from its home in the gutter.

One day, the shoe will move on to places unknown, but until then I plan to record the life of the shoe in the gutter.

(Actual size approx 1 inch)
