Edward McFowland III

I am a third year Ph.D. student of Information Systems in the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University, as well as a Masters student in the Machine Learning Department.  I am both an AT&T Research Labs Fellow and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow.  My research interest include efficient statistical machine learning methods for anomalous pattern detection in massive multivariate data.  I am a member of the Event & Pattern Detection Lab (Heinz College), the Auton Lab (Robotics Institute), and the iLab (Heinz College); my research is advised by Professor Daniel Neill.

Originally I am from Saint Louis, MO where I lived until I moved to Pittsburgh to begin my academic career at CMU.  Being from Saint Louis, I am what you would call a die-hard Saint Louis Cardinals Fan.
