Summary of "Why Frames Suck (Most of the Time)"
Many people do not recommend using frames in websites because they break the unified model of the web. Navigation does not work well with frames because the addressing information shown at the top of the browser no longer constitutes a complete specification of the information shown in the window. This means that the user cannot bookmark pages or type in the URL to get back to a specific location. Also, some older browsers do not support frames, and those users will not be able to see frame sites. Printing can also be a problem because the print command will often print only a single frame. However, more experienced web professionals can sometimes use frames to good effect, but they must be aware of the challenges.
