Raceday 2010
TIME
Raceday 2010 will take place during Carnival, which will be held on Carnegie Mellon’s Pittsburgh campus from April 15-18, 2010. The preliminary races, in which all qualified men’s and women’s teams will compete, will take place on Friday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The final heats, in which the top 10 men’s teams and top six women’s teams will compete, will take place on Saturday, April 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The design competition will precede the races, taking place on Thursday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Weigand Gymnasium in the University Center.
LOCATION
Races will begin at the bottom of Hill 1, or Tech Street, outside of the Margaret Morrison Carnegie Hall rotunda. The course follows Tech Street to Schenley Drive, past Phipps Conservatory, and onto Frew Street.
Spectators are encouraged to attend and watch the races from any point along the course. Popular spots include the top of Hill 2, the Chute from Flagstaff Hill, and the finish line at the end of Hill 5, at the intersection of Frew and Tech Streets.
