(2/7/2009) So I know a guy who goes by Zino. You may be familiar with him from the pictures of the Cheswick tour. It turns out, he can build anything. This is his bar. Note the working gauges salvaged from a power plant.

(2/7/2009) Phillips Power Station, to be exact. It's the one in the picture. You may be wondering when I say "working gauges", what they are connected to. Let's go outside and find out.

(2/7/2009) On the way, we pass this pool. Yes, it's February, and yes, it's 105 degrees in there. In fact, this is not just a pool. It's a cooling tower. You see, Zino runs a small diesel power station of his own construction out of his home, and the swimming pool is also the cooling tower. It's also Pittsburgh's biggest hot tub.

(2/7/2009) "This power station was desgined and built by Zino for Zino. So if you are taller than 5'6", please mind your head!"
(2/7/2009) The furnace and condenser are of Zino's own construction. Most of the rest of the parts are salvaged rather than purchased. It's pretty loud in here, but the station is built into a hillside so it remains quiet above.

(2/7/2009) Computer controlled. You can see from the gauges that he's selling power back to the grid during the party!
(2/7/2009) PLCs, part of the condenser, and that sphere in the right is just a pool filter.
(2/7/2009) Another shot of the condenser, generator and turbine. You can see the fuel preheater in the back.
(2/7/2009) Remember "Home Improvement"? Eat your heart out, Tim Taylor.
(2/7/2009) If the power station isn't enough for you, behold the old-school steam tractor! This was the best party ever.
