Welcome to the GSA Volleyball 2008 official website.
The season is now over. Congratulations to our tournament winners, the B1 - Colorless Green Ideas and C5 - Civil Disobedience!
|
| Basics |
- The season runs from February 10 until the week before final exams.
- Games are every Sunday (except Spring break and Easter) between 5pm and 9pm.
- All games are in the main gym in the old gym (Skibo) on
Tech St (near Posner Hall/GSIA) (it's #10 on this
map)
- We play 6 on 6, but if on any particular week you are
allowed to play with as few as 4.
- All faculty, staff, and graduate students are invited to
play. As in the case last year, all team members who are not CMU students must get written approval from us in order to play. Spouses of CMU students will certainly be allowed to play, but others may be denied. Undergraduates are NOT allowed to play. Please contact Shiang Yong Looi in order to request a non-CMU player.
- As a rule of thumb, If your team can sucessfully bump-set-hit more than half the time, your team should be in the intermediate league.
- A player may be registered on two separate teams in different leagues. However note the following caveat: the two teams might be scheduled for the same time slot and request for change of time slot for this reason will not be entertained.
- The purpose of GSA Volleyball is to provide an environment
where teams can have fun and play to their level. While we
would like people to play to the best of their abilities, we
would also want to foster an environment of fun and good
sportsmanship; in essence, a kinder, gentler volleyball
league. We play because volleyball is fun!
