(Continued...) Interestingly, Beta 's renewed commitment to our alumni and to the community has been accompanied by a physical evolution of our chapter house. This past summer renovations to the chapter house took place, to improve the facility and bring it up to fire code. Although the house improvements were much needed given the age of the house, adherence to new building code has reduced the number of rooms in the house and rent for the facility has been increased as well. While we are the largest Greek organization on campus, the chapter is very committed to assisting all brothers in securing alternate beta housing for those who wish to live with their brothers but cannot live in the chapter house given the limited space. In this light, Gamma Iota, has begun the Beta Housing Initiative, a program we hope will secure a place for all Beta 's at Carnegie Mellon. Details are forthcoming, but with alumni support we may one day house every Beta brother. Finally, a Gamma Iota chapter website is now available online at: http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/ user/beta/index.htm , where you can find more Gamma Iota details.
