I am now a senior research scientist at United Technologies Research Center. I was a Ph.D.Candidate and Adjunct Instructor of Center for Building Performance and Diagnostics, School of Architecture, Carnegie Mellon University. My PhD thesis focuses on the Integrated Building Heating, Cooling and Ventilation Control advised by Professor Khee Poh Lam and Professor Burcu Akinci (CEE) and Professor Charles Neuman (ECE). In my PhD thesis, I'm studying Radiant Floor Heating, Fan Coil Cooling, Mix-Mode and Natural Ventilation, Environmental Sensor Network, Occupancy Behaviour Pattern, Short-term Weather Forecasting and Optimal Control. My experiment set up is here

In addition, I'm also working on several energy consulting projects with NBBJ.

2. Bing got his Ph.D. on September. 24, 2010!!



3. Bing and Xiaoqian, co-authored a paper titled: "Temporal Maximum Margin Markov Network" has been accepted by ECML PKDD (Acceptance Rate %16!!)



4. Bing Dong and Erica won 2010 Isabel Sophia Liceaga Discretionary Fund Award for faculty. See details

This fund is for the proposed study: "Total Sustainable Urban Environment Performance Studies" which aims at using simualtion tools and onsite measurements to help undergraduate and graduate urban design/planning students
